About The Position

The Sr. Consumer Loan Specialist is a key member of a Republic Finance branch team, responsible for providing a positive customer experience while originating consumer loans, completing applications, building customer relationships, and meeting sales goals. The role also supports the Branch Manager with daily operational tasks and serves as a role model for other team members. The successful candidate demonstrates professionalism, a positive and outgoing attitude, reliability, and strong oral and written communication skills.

Compensation is $36,000 per year, paid hourly, plus an uncapped monthly bonus that averages $8,000 annually. The role includes customer service and loan-portfolio servicing, loan origination and processing, insurance-related duties, compliance, and branch support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a goal-oriented, incentive-based sales role.
• Professional demeanor, positive attitude, strong communication skills, and customer relations skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a dedicated team member.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities successfully.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
• Willingness to comply with company employment credit check, background check, and drug screening policies.
• Ability to meet state insurance licensing eligibility requirements to sell voluntary insurance products; eligibility is based on a criminal background check conducted by the state’s department of insurance.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in the consumer finance industry.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Seek opportunities to originate new loan business with new and existing customers.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend suitable consumer loan and voluntary product solutions.
• Complete loan applications, proposals, and offers for new borrowers, and follow up with pending applicants.
• Explain the loan process and answer questions about loan products and processing.
• Take ownership of customer concerns and work with management on strategies for potential problem loans.
• Close loans, assemble loan folders, and break down files.
• Consistently meet or exceed loan goals.
• Service an expanding and complex consumer loan portfolio on a day-to-day basis.
• Use analytical skills to resolve customer issues efficiently.
• Build trust with customers and internal staff by demonstrating the organization’s philosophy, core values, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Process insurance claims, follow-ups, and payments daily, and maintain the insurance log.
• Provide customer care through daily transactions, inquiries, and problem resolution.
• Follow corporate, legal, and regulatory compliance policies, guidelines, and requirements.
• Answer incoming phone calls and check the branch voicemail.
• Assist the Branch Manager with operational tasks, including daily initialization, preparing the daily deposit, and importing live checks.
