About The Position

The Sr. Consumer Loan Specialist is a key member of a branch team, responsible for originating consumer loans, completing applications, developing customer relationships, and meeting sales goals while ensuring a positive customer experience. The role also supports the Branch Manager with daily operational tasks and serves as a role model to other team members. The successful candidate has a professional demeanor, a positive and outgoing attitude, reliability, and strong oral and written communication skills. Republic Finance is a growing financial services company that has served customers for more than 70 years. It provides consumer loans and flexible lending options and emphasizes customer service, employee development, community involvement, and performance. The position offers a stated salary of $36,000 per year, paid hourly, plus an uncapped monthly bonus averaging $8,000 annually.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in a goal-oriented, incentive-based sales role.
Professional demeanor, positive attitude, strong communication skills, and customer relations skills.
Ability to work independently and as a dedicated team member.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
Willingness to comply with company policies regarding employment credit checks, background checks, and drug screening.
Ability to meet eligibility requirements for insurance licensing to sell voluntary insurance products; eligibility is based on a criminal background check conducted by the state department of insurance.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in the consumer finance industry is preferred.
Spanish-speaking skills are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

Seek opportunities to originate new loan business with new and existing customers.
Evaluate customer needs and recommend suitable consumer loan and voluntary product solutions.
Complete loan applications, proposals, and offers for new borrowers, and follow up with pending applicants.
Explain the loan process and answer questions about loan products and processing.
Take ownership of customer concerns and work with management to develop and execute strategies for potential problem loans.
Close loans, assemble loan folders, and break down files.
Consistently meet or exceed loan goals.
Service a growing and complex consumer loan portfolio on a day-to-day basis.
Use analytical skills to resolve customer issues efficiently.
Build trust with customers and internal staff by demonstrating the organization’s philosophy, core values, policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
Process insurance claims, follow-ups, and payments daily, and maintain the insurance log.
Provide customer care through daily transactions, inquiries, and problem resolution.
Follow corporate, legal, and regulatory compliance policies, guidelines, and requirements.
Answer incoming phone calls and check the branch voicemail.
Assist the Branch Manager with operational tasks, including daily initialization, preparing the daily deposit, and importing live checks.
