About The Position

Nordson Electronics Solutions is seeking an experienced, motivated Senior Applications/Systems Engineer to join its team. The role is responsible for applications engineering, which may include designing, defining and implementing system requirements, and analyzing or testing new and existing hardware and software products. The engineer works on complex problems across functional groups, using in-depth evaluation and judgment to select methods and evaluation criteria. Work leadership may include assigning work and resolving problems. The position serves as a technical and project liaison between customers and development teams, supporting solution delivery from pre-sale through post-sale. It collaborates with commercial, electrical, mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to define functional specifications, assess customer requirements, and ensure that equipment and platform configurations meet expectations. The role may involve customer-site visits and domestic or international travel. Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree.
At least 7 years of relevant experience.
Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Customer support experience.
Ability to travel occasionally to domestic and international customer sites.

Nice To Haves

Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis.
Experience with JMP or Minitab.

Responsibilities

Assess problems and design new systems or improve existing systems for better efficiency.
Consult with commercial, electrical, mechanical, software and manufacturing teams to determine system functional specifications.
Travel to customer sites as needed to support product issues and understand software functional and operational needs.
Act as a technical and project liaison between customers and the development team to support solution delivery.
Analyze and verify that system designs meet requirements.
Work with engineers to document algorithms used in software and incorporate them into the Software/Hardware Requirements Document.
Review the software test plan with the development team and suggest improvements.
Continuously improve individual and team practices, and provide constructive feedback to peers.
For pre-sales, troubleshoot problems and propose equipment for commercial teams, attend customer demonstrations, host customer visits, assess technical requirements, and ensure machines meet those requirements.
Provide backup support to factories for buyoff preparation and customer-attended and internal buyoffs.
Support trade shows.
For post-sales, conduct technical reviews to interpret customer order expectations.
Support sales by reviewing and responding to written customer specifications.
Ensure platform configurations can successfully perform the customer's application.
Host customer buyoffs and perform pre-shipment internal buyoffs to verify that platforms meet customer expectations.
Document and communicate non-standard customer requests.
Support the pre-sales applications group as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
