Caterpillar is seeking a Control Systems Application Engineer to support the development and calibration of Electro-Hydraulic (EH) Steering and Steer-By-Wire machines, both aftermarket and factory-fit. The EH Steering team owns steering applications across Caterpillar, so the role supports a range of applications as X-by-Wire features are increasingly adopted. The engineer will learn and apply best practices in the EH Steering space. The role involves developing baseline steering calibrations with Matlab, Simulink, and internal tools; supporting on-machine fine-tuning to maximize operator acceptance and system performance; and working with product groups and hardware, hydraulics, and software teams. The engineer will also contribute to safety-system testing and documentation, validation, testing, and troubleshooting, and apply steering functions in collaboration with autonomy, remote-control, and advanced-feature teams. This is a full-time, onsite position at Caterpillar’s Mossville, Illinois office, five days per week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Travel is up to 10%. Visa sponsorship is not available.
