Developer Sr, IT - Application Systems
About The Position
Enstructure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help shape technology supporting marine logistics across North America. This high-visibility role focuses on developing, implementing, managing, monitoring, and supporting the company’s Terminal Operating System (TOS), which runs cargo ports and is planned to expand from a small group of facilities to more than 90. The position offers opportunities to collaborate with operational leaders, contribute to a major technology transformation, and advance professionally. The role gathers and documents system requirements from end users, supports software and network troubleshooting after deployment, participates in the Software Change Management Process, and provides Tier 2/Tier 3 support for application-related operational issues. The successful candidate stays current with software development trends and recommends DevOps process improvements when appropriate. Travel to other sites may be required at approximately 10%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience developing commercial-grade software systems, with an emphasis on real-time operational systems.
- 3+ years of experience with PHP and JavaScript developing commercial-grade web applications, with an emphasis on user interface design and development.
- Comfort working with end users who have varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Ability to work on small teams to deliver software projects.
- Strong attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of current cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with React.js is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL Server is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, manage, monitor, and support the company’s Terminal Operating System.
- Gather system requirements from end users and document them for implementation.
- Troubleshoot software and network-related issues after production deployment.
- Participate in the Software Change Management Process.
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for operational issues with the application.
- Stay apprised of software development trends and recommend DevOps process improvements where appropriate.
