About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators can negotiate rates with dispatchers and may choose personalized loads based on their preferences. The company states that it has a large number of loads and that each dispatcher has more than four years of experience and broker contacts.

Listed rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for Sprinters on long-mile routes in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile on long-mile routes in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile for Sprinter routes in Canada. Payment is made in 3–5 business days; a 3% quick-pay option is available. The stated operating days are Monday through Friday. Minimum average monthly earnings are stated as $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and whether the driver has a Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• The owner-operator and any drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and any drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
• Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.
• Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
• Sprinters must be model year 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
• Remove all decals from the vehicle.
• Provide the vehicle's registration and insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Russian-language ability; Russian speakers are also hired.
• Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials, which may affect earnings.

Responsibilities

• Operate an owner-supplied Sprinter or Cargo Van to transport accepted loads.
• Coordinate with company dispatchers and accept loads offered by VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER.
• Communicate load preferences to dispatchers so they can offer suitable loads.
• Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road after making changes to it.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance to the company.
