About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers access to a large number of freight loads, experienced dispatchers, and rates that can be negotiated with dispatchers. Loads are personalized to match the owner-operator’s preferences. The company does not hire company drivers; applicants apply as owner-operators and must have their own vehicle.

Advertised Sprinter rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days, with a 3% quick-pay option. The stated work days are Monday through Friday. The advertised minimum average monthly salary is $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and whether the driver has Hazmat certification or TSA/TWIC credentials.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• The applicant and any drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The applicant and any drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
• Have at least six months of driving experience.
• The Sprinter must be a 2016 model or newer.
• All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a load.
• The vehicle must have at least four straps and PPE.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Remove all vehicle decals.

Nice To Haves

• Russian language skills; the company also hires Russian speakers.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
• Provide and operate an eligible Sprinter or Cargo Van to transport freight loads.
• Register with and receive approval from VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting company loads.
• Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road if making changes to it.
• Provide the vehicle’s registration and insurance.
• Carry at least four straps and PPE in the vehicle.
• Remove all decals from the vehicle.
