About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement; the company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators receive load offers from dispatchers with at least four years of experience and may negotiate rates with dispatchers. Loads are personalized according to the owner-operator’s preferences. The posting lists rates of $0.85–$1.35 per mile for Sprinters in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile for Canada. Payment is made in 3–5 business days, with a 3% quick-pay option. The stated workweek is Monday through Friday. The posting gives a minimum average monthly salary of $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English; Russian speakers are also hired.
• Have at least six months of driving experience.
• Sprinter vehicles must be no older than 2016.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
• Remove all decals from the vehicle.
• Inform the company of vehicle changes before putting the vehicle on the road.
• Submit vehicle registration and insurance.
• All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER to accept a load.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
• Use a personally owned Sprinter or Cargo Van to perform loads accepted from VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER.
• Communicate load preferences to dispatchers and notify the company before putting a modified vehicle on the road.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance documents.
• Ensure all drivers are approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.
