About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring owner-operators with Sprinter vans or cargo vans under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers a large number of loads, competitive rates, and personalized load selection based on the owner-operator’s preferences. Rates may be negotiated with dispatchers, who are described as having at least four years of experience and broker contacts. Advertised Sprinter rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated workweek range is Monday through Friday. The company does not hire company drivers.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or cargo van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or work authorization holder.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English; Russian speakers are also hired.
• Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.
• Sprinter vans must be model year 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
• All vehicle decals must be removed.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Have at least six months of driving experience.

Nice To Haves

• A Hazmat certificate may affect average monthly earnings.
• A TSA/TWIC credential may affect average monthly earnings.

Responsibilities

• Operate an owned Sprinter or cargo van as an owner-operator under an independent contractor agreement.
• Accept loads from VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER after the owner-operator and drivers have been approved, accepted, and registered.
• Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road if changes are made to it.
• Provide the vehicle’s registration and insurance.
