About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement; the company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators receive access to a large number of loads and dispatchers with more than four years of experience and broker contacts. Dispatchers discuss drivers’ load preferences and offer personalized loads. Rates may be negotiated with dispatchers. Listed Sprinter rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days, with a 3% quick-pay option. The stated minimum average monthly earnings are $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and Hazmat or TSA/TWIC credentials.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
• Owner-operators and their drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• Owner-operators and their drivers must speak, understand, and read basic English.
• Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
• Sprinter vehicles must be model year 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
• All decals must be removed.
• Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a load.
• Submit vehicle registration and insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Russian language ability; Russian speakers are also hired.
• Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials may affect earnings.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
• Provide and operate an eligible Sprinter or Cargo Van.
• Register with and obtain approval from VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting company loads.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Notify the company before putting the vehicle on the road if making changes to it.
• Meet the vehicle equipment and decal requirements.
