About The Position

This announcement is for two positions at Ft. Wainwright, AK. The first is an intermittent role at Fryar Fieldhouse with a flexible schedule and no guaranteed minimum hours. The second is a Regular Part-Time role at the Fryar Fitness Center, guaranteeing 20 hours per week with the flexibility to work up to 39 hours. This role supports athletics and intramural sports programs, provides oversight of events and tournaments, monitors and maintains equipment, and assists with event setup and promotion.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must obtain and maintain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED within one year of employment.
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, to include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
  • Must be able to endure physical demands beyond normal requirements including prolonged standing and walking, and must be able to work in settings where exposure to moderate discomforts may exist.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Satisfactory completion of a physical exam is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must be able to obtain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of full-time work experience in the sports and fitness industry.
  • Possess a current nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Responsibilities

  • Supports activities and services of the athletics and intramural sports program.
  • Provides oversight of events and tournaments.
  • Monitors condition of, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on athletics equipment.
  • Assists in setting up for special events and sports tournaments.
  • Assists with the publicity of events and tournaments as well as assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers, and other promotional material.
