About The Position

This position is located at the Community Center - Fort Riley, Kansas. Fort Riley FMWR locations offer gaming, sports, food, and a relaxed hangout space for Soldiers. The position performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the operation. It applies knowledge of the organization, its functions and regulations to carry out a wide variety of administrative functions such as personnel, accounting, budget, purchasing, logistics and supply, transportation, and security. The role involves receiving telephone calls and visitors, providing required information, and referring callers to the appropriate person. The Operations Assistant will also type various correspondence and reports, tabulate statistical data into final format, gather data and documentation for special projects, and prepare briefing support materials. Additionally, the role includes establishing, maintaining, or controlling files and logs.

Requirements

  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Clerical and administrative work experience which indicates the ability to perform the duties as described above.
  • Must be able to type 40 words per minute.
  • Must be highly skilled in written and verbal communication.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other software as required.
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Types various correspondence and reports.
  • Tabulates statistical data into final format.
  • Gathers data and documentation for special projects and prepares briefing support materials.
  • Establishes, maintains or controls files and logs.
