About The Position

This position is located at Fort AP Hill, Virginia. The Lead Recreation Assistant works in a patron usage facility, circulating among patrons to ensure satisfactory service, receiving and resolving customer complaints, and providing information and general instructions on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery. They assist patrons by checking out equipment, providing safety instructions, demonstrating new equipment, and teaching classes. The role involves planning, conducting, publicizing, and arranging support for special events, social activities, tournaments, and related functions. Additionally, the position provides leadership, guidance, and oversight in program operations and offers on-the-job training to new employees. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a food protection manager certification.

Responsibilities

  • Circulates among patrons in a facility to assure service is satisfactory.
  • Receives and resolves customer complaints.
