About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Speech Language Pathologist in a Skilled Nursing Facility (Long Term Care) in Denver, Colorado. The assignment is for 14 weeks, starting on 08/17/2026, with guaranteed hours of 40 per week. The role involves providing comprehensive speech and language pathology services to patients, including evaluations, developing and implementing care plans, administering interventions, recommending assistive devices, collaborating with healthcare professionals, documenting patient progress, and educating patients and families.

Requirements

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from ASHA, or CCC-eligible, and current state licensure as applicable.
  • Proof of current CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation; must maintain appropriate auto insurance.
  • 1 year of clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the Educational Standards Board or meeting ASHA certification requirements.

  • Experience in a home care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and identify equipment needs related to speech and language function.
  • Develop and implement a Plan of Care to improve functional communication and, when appropriate, swallowing function.
  • Administer speech-language pathology interventions using specialized techniques and equipment.
  • Recommend communication devices or aids as indicated to support patient function.
  • Confer with referring physician and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care within the Plan of Care.
  • Document patient care, including progress, changes to the POC, and continuing need for therapy; provide patient and family/caregiver education on tasks and resources for continued independence.
  • Identify needs for additional services and refer to appropriate resources; may supervise home health aide in procedures tied to the POC.
  • Participate in case conferences, in-services, and other meetings required to ensure coordinated care; perform other related duties as assigned.
