About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Speech Language Pathologist in an Acute Care setting at a skilled nursing facility in Fredericksburg, VA. The role involves working with an interdisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments and therapy. The position offers guaranteed hours and dedicated travel support.

Requirements

Active Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in Virginia or eligible for licensure
Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility and participate in a travel assignment
Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
Effective communication and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team
Proficiency with documentation in electronic medical records and compliance with regulatory requirements

Nice To Haves

Experience in acute care or SNF settings is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust goals based on patient response.
Provide direct therapy to individuals and groups and document therapy activities, progress, and outcomes in the medical record.
Perform bedside swallow evaluations and, as appropriate, deliver swallowing rehabilitation to improve safety and efficiency.
Collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, physicians, occupational therapy, dietary, social work) to coordinate care and discharge planning.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, compensatory techniques, and safe swallowing strategies; support transition planning.
