About The Position

Amgen is seeking a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative for its Bone Health sales territory covering Conway, West Memphis, and Searcy. Relocation is not offered. The position serves as a primary customer contact, providing medical professionals with clinical product knowledge and helping them navigate the payer environment. The representative implements marketing strategy and promotes Amgen products as directed by the District Manager, with a focus on appropriate product utilization and serving patients. The role level and title will be selected based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience for the geography.

Requirements

For the Specialty Representative level: Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree and 4 years of sales experience, or high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
For the Senior Specialty Representative level: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or Associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.

Nice To Haves

Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
For Specialty Representative: some experience, pre-graduate sales training, and/or a proven record of successful leadership under pressure.
For Senior Specialty Representative: 3 or more years of experience.
Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases, including related diseases and treatments.
Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
Local market knowledge.
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.

Responsibilities

Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate utilization.
Achieve territory sales goals by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
Develop and manage account relationships by tailoring discussions to customer needs, ensuring product access, triaging or resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
Share best practices with colleagues and seek opportunities to learn and grow in the role.
Maintain product enthusiasm throughout the sales cycle, build the Amgen brand, and keep the company's patient-service mission in focus.
