About The Position
Amgen is seeking a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative for a Bone Health overlay territory covering Jacksonville West and East, Gainesville, St. Augustine, and Brunswick, Florida. The role serves as the primary customer contact, providing clinical product knowledge to medical professionals, implementing marketing strategy as directed by the District Manager, and helping customers navigate the payer environment. Relocation is not offered. The representative promotes Amgen products and supports appropriate utilization through customer education, sales programs, account management, territory planning, and collaboration with colleagues. The position is open to candidates with different backgrounds and experience levels; the role level and title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience for the geography.
Requirements
- For Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree, or an Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
- For Senior Specialty Representative: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or an Associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.
- Ability to provide product knowledge and clinical product information to medical professionals and support territory sales and account management.
- Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.
Nice To Haves
- Sales, marketing, or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
- For Specialty Representative: Some experience, pre-graduate sales training, and/or a demonstrated record of successful leadership under pressure.
- For Senior Specialty Representative: 3 or more years of experience.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases.
- Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
- Local market knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate product utilization.
- Drive territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical education programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage customer accounts, tailoring discussions to customer needs, supporting product access, triaging or resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
- Collaborate with colleagues, share best practices, and pursue continued learning and growth.
- Maintain commitment to Amgen products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients.
