About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist – On Field Operations supports a seamless athlete experience by executing key on-floor processes, including merchandising, pricing, and product availability. The role combines operational expertise with an athlete-first mindset to help the store deliver a consistent, high-quality experience.

The specialist engages athletes to understand their shopping needs, shares accurate product information, and recommends products and services. They also serve as a subject matter expert in designated process categories, support team member onboarding and training, and help ensure products are ready for purchase. The role maintains merchandising and presentation standards, promotes company programs, and contributes to a welcoming, respectful, and safe store environment while following company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.

• Previous retail or customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and provide a high-quality experience.
• Provide clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
• Anticipate athlete needs and drive sales through product and service recommendations.
• Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members in area-specific best practices, selling skills, and operational processes.
• Serve as a go-to expert in designated process categories to support smooth execution and productivity.
• Execute processes efficiently while ensuring products are ready for athletes to purchase and athletes are engaged appropriately.
• Maintain merchandising and presentation standards, including floor set plans, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
• Promote customer participation in company programs, including the customer loyalty program, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment.
• Help create a welcoming and respectful environment for teammates and athletes.
• Follow company policies and procedures for safety, loss prevention, and standard operations, as well as applicable external laws and guidelines.
