About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist – Off Field Operations supports inventory accuracy, fulfillment, and operational execution to keep the store running efficiently and consistently athlete-ready. The role combines operational work with athlete engagement, product guidance, sales support, and assistance with team training. The specialist serves as a go-to expert in designated process categories and helps ensure work is performed efficiently while maintaining an athlete-first mindset.

The position also supports store presentation and merchandising standards, promotes participation in company programs, and helps create a welcoming environment for athletes and teammates. The role requires following company policies and procedures for safety, loss prevention, and standard operations, as well as applicable external laws and guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail or customer-facing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and deliver an outstanding experience, providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable product and assortment information.
• Anticipate athlete needs and drive sales through product and service recommendations based on an understanding of those needs.
• Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members, sharing best practices, selling skills, and key operational processes.
• Serve as a go-to expert in designated process categories to support smooth execution and high productivity.
• Execute processes efficiently while ensuring products are ready for purchase and athletes are engaged as they prefer.
• Maintain merchandising and presentation standards, including floor set plans, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
• Promote customer participation in company programs, including the customer loyalty program, warranties, and private label credit card enrollment.
• Help create an environment where teammates and athletes are welcome and treated with respect.
• Follow company safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as applicable laws and external guidelines.
