About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist – Off Field Operations supports critical store processes and helps ensure the store is consistently athlete-ready. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, fulfillment, and operational execution that keep the store running efficiently.

The specialist also delivers an outstanding athlete experience by understanding shopping needs, providing knowledgeable product information, and recommending products and services. As a subject matter expert in designated process categories, the specialist supports onboarding and training, promotes efficient execution, and helps maintain merchandising and presentation standards. The role contributes to a welcoming store environment and follows safety, loss-prevention, and operational policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.

• Previous retail or customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage athletes proactively to understand their shopping needs and provide a world-class experience.
• Provide clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
• Anticipate athlete needs and drive sales through relevant product and service recommendations.
• Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members, sharing best practices, selling skills, and operational processes.
• Serve as a go-to expert in designated process categories to support smooth execution and productivity.
• Execute processes efficiently while maintaining an athlete-first mindset and ensuring products are ready for purchase.
• Follow company merchandising and presentation standards, including floor-set plans, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
• Promote participation in company programs, including customer loyalty, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment.
• Help create a store environment where teammates and athletes are welcomed and treated with respect.
• Follow safety, loss-prevention, standard operating procedures, and applicable external laws and guidelines.
