About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist – Off Field Operations supports inventory accuracy, fulfillment, and operational execution to keep the store running efficiently and consistently ready for athletes. The role combines behind-the-scenes process execution with proactive athlete engagement and knowledgeable product assistance.

The specialist serves as a subject matter expert in designated store process categories and helps onboard and train team members. The position supports sales and company programs while maintaining merchandising standards, safety, loss-prevention practices, and a welcoming store environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.

• Previous retail or customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and provide an outstanding experience with clear, accurate, and knowledgeable product information.
• Anticipate athlete needs and support sales through product and service recommendations informed by an understanding of those needs.
• Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members, sharing best practices, selling skills, and operational processes.
• Serve as a go-to expert in designated process categories to support smooth execution and productivity.
• Execute processes efficiently while maintaining an athlete-first mindset and ensuring products are ready for purchase.
• Follow floor-set plans, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment standards.
• Promote customer participation in company programs, including loyalty programs, warranties, and private-label credit card enrollment.
• Help create an environment where teammates and athletes are welcomed and treated with respect.
• Follow company policies and procedures for safety, loss prevention, and standard operations, as well as applicable external laws and guidelines.
