About The Position

This is a 1.0 FTE teaching position at Abingdon Elementary School. The teacher implements instructional programs suited to students’ needs, interests, and abilities; maintains a safe, orderly learning environment; communicates with parents and guardians; and keeps complete, accurate student records. The role involves collaboration with school administrators, teachers, instructional assistants, families, and community members, as well as monitoring and assessing student achievement. The teacher also participates in ongoing professional learning and meetings. The position requires teaching experience in the relevant areas, knowledge of effective instructional practices, the ability to integrate technology, and experience in educational and instructional leadership. Candidates must hold or be eligible for Virginia licensure and have a Special Education endorsement. Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in another content area, is preferred but not required. Salary is based on the FY2026–27 salary schedule, with a T-Scale range of $56,458–$139,828. The position is benefits eligible.
