T26/27 SPECIAL ED TEACHER (Abingdon)
About The Position
The Special Ed Teacher position is a 1.0 FTE role located at Abingdon Elementary School. The teacher implements instructional programs tailored to students’ needs, interests, and abilities using appropriate materials; maintains a safe and orderly environment; communicates with parents and guardians; maintains accurate student records; collaborates with school administrators, teachers, instructional assistants, families, and community members; monitors and assesses student achievement; and attends professional learning and meetings. Salary is based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule, with a T-Scale range of $56,458–$139,828. The position is benefits eligible.
Requirements
- Have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Hold a Special Education endorsement.
- Have teaching experience in the areas mentioned.
- Have knowledge of best instructional practices.
- Be able to integrate technology.
- Have experience in educational and instructional leadership.
Nice To Haves
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in another content area.
