Sourcing Supervisor
About The Position
Xometry is seeking a solution-oriented Team Lead for its Sourcing Department. The role leads Sourcing Specialists and Coordinators in resolving complex manufacturing challenges and delivering customer-first outcomes for complex projects. It provides hands-on leadership, coaching, and support to promote efficient order placement, high-quality customer outcomes, and adherence to performance metrics. The position combines people leadership with technical problem-solving, customer and supplier negotiations, and strategic problem-solving in a rapidly growing department. The successful candidate will guide the team while also managing their own high-risk orders and escalations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of client-facing and vendor-facing experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- 2+ years of team leadership or mentoring experience, ideally in an operations, sourcing, or customer-facing environment.
- Demonstrated success managing escalated or complex workplace situations with clear communication and strong follow-through.
- Ability to provide clear direction, feedback, and organized escalation summaries verbally and in writing to team members and internal and external customers.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to triage and prioritize multiple simultaneous escalations.
- Ability to work independently while remaining responsive and available to team members.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs and Sheets) or Microsoft equivalents.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Looker, and CAD software.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of sourcing professionals through the order recovery process, providing coaching, direction, and real-time guidance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on advanced recovery strategies and supplier and customer negotiations, helping resolve complex sourcing challenges.
- Prioritize escalations and redistribute the team’s workload as needed to achieve overall KPIs.
- Maintain cross-functional relationships with internal teams, including Design Engineers, the Manual Quoting Team, and Sales, to coordinate recovery plans.
- Independently manage a queue of high-risk or high-visibility escalations.
