About The Position

Recycling Works / Waste Connections is hiring a 1st Shift Recycle Center Sorter in Elkhart, Indiana. The role processes incoming recyclable materials safely and efficiently, sorts materials onto conveyor belts, and moves them to appropriate areas. The sorter also helps keep the recycling area and outdoor yard clean, assists with maintaining the baler and conveyor line, and performs custodial and other assigned duties. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to remain on your feet for most or all of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials.
• Sort recyclable material onto different conveyor belts and move it to the appropriate areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the recycling area and outdoor yard.
• Help maintain equipment such as the baler and conveyor line.
• Perform custodial duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
