About The Position

As a Sommelier at Four Sixes Ranch Steakhouse, you will bring the spirit of the American West to life through extensive wine knowledge, thoughtful pairings, and exceptional hospitality. You will guide guests through the curated wine selection and recommend pairings that complement premium cuts of beef and Texas-inspired flavors. The role focuses on anticipating guest needs, providing personalized service, and creating memorable dining experiences.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of prior relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete knowledge of the wine list and wine-and-food pairings.
• Collect money while following cash-handling and comp procedures.
• Clean equipment, tools, and supplies; ensure equipment is in good working order and the workstation is clean, sanitary, and presentable.
• Maintain and update cellar and storage inventory according to set pars and internal controls, and request product to maintain stock in the designated area.
• Meet regularly with the wine trade to seek quality wines for the restaurant wine program and evaluate wines and other beverages for potential purchase.
• Train and supervise employees on wine knowledge, pour levels, and proper storage to eliminate waste.
• Verify the accuracy of wine deliveries from the main warehouse and return or exchange deliveries when warehouse errors occur.
• Manage purchases and requisitions to maintain appropriate beverage costs; place wine requisitions at the end of each service.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.
