Solutions Lead, Workforce Management & Payroll (UKG)

Vitalize•San Francisco, CA
•$160,000 - $200,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Vitalize is building an AI operating system for health systems to manage labor and capacity. The Enterprise Solutions team bridges Growth and Post-Sales, helping ensure technical feasibility is understood before a sale, customers are ready to go live, and complex problems become repeatable solutions. As one of Vitalize’s first two Enterprise Solutions hires, you will build this new function alongside a peer focused on clinical and EHR systems. You will own workforce management, timekeeping, HCM, HRIS, and payroll systems, including platforms such as UKG, Workday, Oracle, Infor, and API Healthcare. These systems supply and receive data such as schedules, punches, pay codes, accruals, organizational hierarchies, and employee information. Your work will help prevent deployment delays, improve alignment between sales commitments and delivery, and enable teams to handle common workforce-system work independently. The position is open to candidates anywhere in the US and involves 40–50% travel to customer sites. Candidates based in San Francisco may work in a hybrid setup from Vitalize’s Jackson Square headquarters. The role reports to the COO.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major workforce management, HCM, or payroll platform such as UKG, Workday, Oracle, Infor, or API Healthcare.
  • Understanding of timekeeping, scheduling, accruals, pay rules, labor levels, organizational hierarchies, and how these flow into payroll.
  • Integration knowledge, including REST APIs, SFTP and flat-file integrations, middleware, SSO using SAML or OIDC, and provisioning using SCIM.
  • Ability to lead technical solutioning with enterprise customers, including CIO organizations, HRIS and payroll leaders, integration teams, and security teams, from pre-sales through implementation and escalation.
  • Ability to turn difficult problem-solving into repeatable solutions that others can use.
  • Ability to distinguish implementation issues, configuration problems, integration limitations, and product gaps, and to recognize when Engineering involvement is needed.
  • Ability to bridge go-to-market and post-sales work while avoiding commitments delivery teams cannot fulfill.
  • Interest in defining and building a new function from zero.
  • Willingness to travel 40–50% to customer sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an implementation consultant, solutions architect, or integration lead.
  • Health system experience, especially with healthcare pay practices such as shift differentials, call and premium pay, incentive pay, and union rules.
  • Experience with middleware or integration tooling such as Boomi, Workday EIB/Studio, or UKG integration tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own workforce-system solutioning across the customer lifecycle, carrying technical context from pre-signature discovery through implementation and post-launch.
  • Lead WFM, HCM, and payroll discovery on enterprise deals, examining system tenants and versions, customization, integration options, pay rules, labor and cost-center structures, data ownership, SSO, provisioning, and customer responsibilities.
  • Partner with Deployments to establish standards for pay-code, job-code, and organizational mapping; integration setup; testing; payroll validation; and cutover.
  • Support complex deployments while enabling Deployment Strategists to own increasingly sophisticated workstreams.
  • Diagnose post-launch synchronization failures, pay discrepancies, and customer-side upgrades or migrations, and identify root causes.
  • Create vendor-specific playbooks, discovery guides, documentation, and training for Growth, Deployments, Support, and Customer Success.
  • Identify recurring workforce-integration requirements and blockers, and partner with Product and Engineering to determine whether the solution is enablement, a new integration, or a scalable platform capability.
  • Build the Enterprise Solutions function from scratch alongside a peer focused on clinical and EHR systems.
