Solutions Engineer

Reality Defender•New York, NY
•$165,000 - $190,000

About The Position

Reality Defender is seeking a Solutions Engineer to serve as the technical lead on customer deals, from initial discovery through working integration. The role supports banks, government agencies, and enterprise security teams evaluating the company’s AI-generated media and deepfake detection platform. The Solutions Engineer demonstrates the platform on customers’ own media and workflows, explains detection results and tradeoffs, and helps customers understand how the platform fits their existing technology stack. This is a full-time position based in New York City or available remotely, reporting to the CRO. The role also contributes to the company’s sales and product processes by owning technical evaluations and security reviews, developing reusable demo and integration materials, and communicating customer feedback to Product, Engineering, and research teams. The successful candidate is expected to represent Reality Defender at customer meetings and industry events, and to be candid about the platform’s capabilities and limitations. Within 12 months, the person will become a recognized internal and customer-facing expert on deepfake detection deployments, build reusable demos and POC resources to help shorten sales cycles, contribute to sales strategies for emerging use cases or verticals, and help onboard and coach new Solutions Engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or in a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • A track record of running proofs of concept that convert, including setting clear success criteria, keeping evaluations on schedule, and demonstrating deals helped close.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs and integrations, with enough Python or JavaScript skill to build demos, read customer code, and troubleshoot integrations.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Ability to explain probabilistic results, including confidence scores and false-positive and false-negative rates, to technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to be candid with customers about what the product does and does not do.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling cybersecurity, fraud prevention, identity, or AI/ML products to enterprise buyers.
  • Experience selling to financial services, government, defense, or other regulated buyers, including security reviews and compliance requirements such as SOC 2 or FedRAMP.
  • Familiarity with contact center platforms such as Genesys, Five9, or Amazon Connect, video conferencing, or identity verification platforms.
  • Active or prior U.S. security clearance, or exposure to digital forensics, synthetic media, or adversarial ML.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery and run proofs of concept using customers’ audio, video, image, and text samples, with success criteria agreed upon in advance with the account executive and customer.
  • Build and deliver demos tailored to individual buyer use cases, including contact center fraud, executive impersonation, KYC and onboarding, and media verification.
  • Explain detection results, confidence scores, thresholds, false-positive tradeoffs, and missed-fake risks in terms suited to the customer’s risk tolerance.
  • Guide customers integrating the company’s API and SDKs into existing systems, including contact center, video conferencing, identity verification, and case management tools.
  • Own the technical aspects of security reviews, questionnaires, and RFPs, particularly for financial institutions and government buyers.
  • Provide clear, prioritized customer feedback to Product, Engineering, and the research team.
  • Build reusable demo environments, scripts, talk tracks, and integration guides.
  • Escalate questions beyond the platform’s current capabilities to Engineering or research rather than over-promising.
  • Represent Reality Defender at customer meetings, industry events, and conferences as needed.
  • Develop expertise in deepfake detection deployments, contribute demo and POC resources, help shape sales approaches for new use cases or verticals, and onboard and coach new Solutions Engineers as the team grows.
