About The Position

Databricks is hiring a Solutions Engineer for its programmatic effort to develop promising field engineers and future data leaders. In this in-office role, based in Databricks’ Midtown New York City location, you will build on emerging technical skills in solutions engineering and learn to apply them on the Databricks platform. You will help customers address real-world data challenges by building working prototypes and advising customer teams on moving solutions into production. Relocation assistance is not provided.

You will work with a collaborative, customer-focused team to help customers use Databricks’ Data Intelligence Platform for AI and data analytics. The role combines technical and business engagement, hands-on prototyping, and the creation of reusable technical resources to support customer outcomes and adoption.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of technical experience in a customer-facing solutions engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience through work experience.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Ability to interact confidently and professionally with customers.
• Ability to meet expectations for technical training and role-specific outcomes within 6 months of hire.
• Must be based in New York City (Midtown location) for this in-office role.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Big Data technologies and architectures, such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• A builder mindset, with a preference for hands-on prototyping and learning by doing, and comfort using AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Build successful relationships with customers in an assigned territory and provide technical and business value in collaboration with Account Executives.
• Apply expertise in AI and data analytics to engage customers with Databricks.
• Develop into a trusted advisor on architecture, design, and implementation to support adoption of the Databricks data and AI platform.
• Build working prototypes by writing code, creating demos, and developing reusable assets to address customer problems and accelerate outcomes.
• Use AI tools to increase productivity and drive innovation.
• Create reference architectures, how-to materials, and demo applications to scale best practices and support customers.
• Help build the Databricks community in the region by leading workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
• Grow technical and/or industry expertise.
