About The Position

Coverbase is hiring its first Solutions Consultant as a founding member of its go-to-market team. The role helps prospective enterprise customers evaluate Coverbase and turn successful proofs of concept into closed deals. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Solutions Consultant partners closely with Account Executives and engineering to connect complex customer needs to product capabilities and business outcomes. The role owns the proof-of-concept experience from kickoff through final readout, including project planning, stakeholder management, product demonstrations, success metrics, and presentation decks. The Solutions Consultant will quickly become an expert on Coverbase’s platform and the third-party risk management (TPRM) landscape, tailoring product positioning to customer problems and supporting enterprise sales activities such as security reviews, RFPs, and technical due diligence. As a founding hire, this person will help define and build repeatable evaluation processes, templates, demo flows, and reporting assets. They will coordinate customer requests and configurations with engineering, bridge pre-sales to implementation, and represent Coverbase at conferences and client meetings. The role can lean toward project management and rigorous evaluation execution, or toward deep product and domain expertise, depending on the person’s strengths. Travel is expected for client meetings and conferences, as well as U.S. in-person team gatherings every three to five months.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in solutions consulting, solutions engineering, sales engineering, or a similar pre-sales role selling enterprise SaaS.
  • Proven experience running POCs and pilots for enterprise buyers, with strong project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in TPRM or closely adjacent areas such as procurement, supplier management, GRC, vendor security, compliance, or contract lifecycle management.
  • Ability to learn complex products quickly and become a recognized expert.
  • Strategic problem-solving ability, including working with clients to understand problems and position a business-appropriate solution.
  • A track record of delivering product demonstrations and readouts that help win deals, with confidence presenting to executive and non-technical audiences.
  • Meticulous, process-driven approach to complex evaluations, commitments, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Comfort with enterprise sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, security reviews, POCs, and procurement.
  • Working knowledge of SaaS architecture, APIs, integrations, SSO, data security, and AI or automation concepts.
  • Self-starter with a builder’s mentality who can work in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and processes or tools may not yet exist.
  • Honesty, accountability, and willingness to work hard.

Nice To Haves

  • Pre-sales experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup, ideally through a scaling phase.
  • Experience selling to regulated or complex buyers, such as banks, insurance carriers, higher education, or life sciences.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks such as OCC and FFIEC guidance, DORA, NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, SOX, or GxP.
  • Hands-on use of procurement, ERP, or GRC systems such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, or Workday.
  • Practitioner background in procurement, risk, compliance, or security.

Responsibilities

  • Own proofs of concept from kickoff through final readout, defining scope, success criteria, timelines, and responsibilities with customers and Account Executives.
  • Lead customer meetings during the POC process, manage stakeholder relationships, and align participants on progress, commitments, and next steps.
  • Partner with Account Executives to tailor and lead product demonstrations that connect Coverbase’s capabilities to customer risk workflows, pain points, and business objectives.
  • Become the go-to product and domain expert for the go-to-market team, staying current on the platform and TPRM landscape and advising on how to position Coverbase for each client.
  • Translate customer needs into clear product requirements and coordinate product requests and configurations with engineering, balancing customer needs, sales priorities, and technical capacity.
  • Own POC metrics and presentation decks, measure outcomes against agreed success criteria, and communicate product value through readouts and business cases.
  • Help Account Executives close deals by anticipating blockers, resolving questions, supporting security reviews, RFPs, and technical due diligence, and providing product expertise and sales materials.
  • Hand off customer goals, use cases, requirements, and success criteria to implementation teams and partners, and help identify expansion opportunities.
  • Develop repeatable solutions processes, including POC templates, demo flows, and reporting assets, and bring structured customer feedback to product and engineering teams.
  • Represent Coverbase at conferences and client meetings; travel is expected.
