About The Position

Nearmap is hiring a Solutions Product Manager, Government, to own the commercial success of products serving government customers at state, local, and federal levels. The role partners closely with government customers to understand their workflows and pain points, define valuable solutions, and guide products from strategy through launch and growth. The position is fully remote within the continental United States.

The successful candidate will gather customer and market insights, define product strategy and goals, set priorities, and work hands-on to build and grow products. They will develop expertise in geospatial technologies and property intelligence workflows, and collaborate with engineering, go-to-market, legal, other product leaders, and teams across Nearmap.

The role also involves close engagement with Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, customers, and ecosystem partners. The product manager will share insights to align stakeholders on a common vision and plan, while complying with applicable legislation, company guidelines, and the corporate Code of Conduct.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of product management experience building B2B SaaS and/or enterprise data products.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to define and justify a product roadmap.
• Proven track record of building and shipping both 0-to-1 products and incremental improvements.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to tailor writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Confident, clear speaking skills in settings ranging from small-team discussions to large conference talks.
• High agency and a strong bias for action.
• Commercial judgment and motivation to drive impact for Nearmap and its customers, including prioritizing competing needs.
• Analytical and data-driven approach.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with or selling to government customers, including familiarity with public-sector procurement and how local, state, and federal agencies work together.
• Experience with geospatial data.
• Experience with geospatial technology and remote sensing, ideally with familiarity with Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley products.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall commercial success of government products.
• Create a compelling vision, mission, and roadmap for Nearmap’s government products.
• Develop deep expertise in government customers, workflows, use cases, and pain points.
• Become a subject matter expert on government offerings, including property assessment, asset and portfolio management, public safety, and disaster response.
• Translate customer and business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
• Define product metrics that provide insight into product traction and health.
• Build and champion internal business cases for compelling product opportunities.
• Connect regularly with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to review customer pain points, opportunities, and sales objections.
• Speak directly with customers to understand their experience with existing products and gather discovery insights for new product concepts.
• Share findings with Nearmap stakeholders to align on a shared vision and plan of action.
• Build relationships with ecosystem partners, including technology platforms and channel partners, to understand Nearmap’s position in the value chain.
• Listen to sales and customer success calls to understand customer priorities.
• Comply with local legislative requirements and company guidelines, stay current with relevant legislation where appropriate, and act ethically when dealing with company assets and people.
