About The Position

Nearmap is hiring a Solution Product Manager, Government, to set direction for its government product solutions and turn customer and market insight into valuable product requirements. The role owns new solution development and improvements to existing offerings, partnering with senior product leaders and collaborating with sales, engineering, and marketing to define and deliver initiatives that meet customer needs. It combines strategic product ownership with hands-on execution, including gathering insights, writing requirements, setting delivery priorities, and tracking performance.

The position serves as Product Owner for a delivery stream and develops deep expertise in government workflows and geospatial technology. The role builds relationships with customers, internal teams, and ecosystem partners to identify customer needs, product opportunities, and ways to improve Nearmap’s offerings and market presence. The position is fully remote within the continental United States.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in government, ideally within a government geospatial office, with project or product leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to build, validate, and present a compelling business case in plain language.
• Comfort with geospatial technology and remote sensing.
• Ability to write clear requirements that technical teams can act on.
• Track record of managing multiple priorities and stakeholders while meeting deadlines.
• Clear and confident communication across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to draw insight from diverse and messy data.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and motivation to drive revenue.
• Analytical and personable, with the ability to work with data and people across engineering disciplines.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with geospatial data and its use in government.
• Familiarity with government procurement and how local, state, and federal entities work together.
• Experience with Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley products.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior product leaders to define product requirements and priorities for Government solutions.
• Translate customer and business needs into actionable requirements and acceptance criteria for the technical delivery team.
• Own product metrics and turn them into insights for the broader product organization.
• Review call recordings and other signals to surface customer and market insights.
• Lead backlog grooming, priority refinement, and requirements alignment with the delivery team.
• Build expertise in government use cases, customer workflows, pain points, and industry challenges.
• Develop expertise in areas including property assessment and management, land development, public safety, portfolio and asset management, and disaster response.
• Connect regularly with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to review customer pain points, opportunities, and sales or upsell obstacles.
• Speak directly with customers to understand their use of Nearmap products and identify opportunities to solve new problems or upsell.
• Share customer and market insights with Nearmap stakeholders to prompt action and improvement.
• Connect with ecosystem partners, including technology platforms, channel partners, analysts, and media, to help raise Nearmap’s profile.
• Listen to sales and customer success calls to understand customer priorities.
• Comply with local legislative requirements and company guidelines and Code of Conduct, stay current with applicable legislation where appropriate, and act ethically when dealing with company assets and others.
