About The Position

At Regions, the Software Quality Assurance (QA) Lead supports the application development organization by helping prepare test strategies, testing approaches, and resource needs. The role coordinates and tracks functional and non-functional testing for projects or applications and may lead teams of varying sizes across different applications throughout Regions. It also contributes to the development of technical skills and knowledge. The position leads projects from a QA perspective in collaboration with project managers, application development teams, business units, Compliance, Risk, and Audit. It is intended to be onsite in Birmingham, Alabama, or Atlanta, Georgia, with a strong preference for Birmingham. Regions does not provide relocation assistance. The position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. It may be filled at a higher level depending on qualifications and relevant experience.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of quality or related experience, or a high school diploma or GED and eight years of quality or related experience.

Ability to research and analyze data and derive data-driven solutions.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of software implementation methodologies.

Working knowledge of test management tools such as Azure DevOps, qTest, Jira, or Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
Working knowledge of Tosca and Selenium.

Responsibilities

Lead Regions' projects from a QA standpoint, working closely with project managers, Application Development teams, Business Units, Compliance, Risk, and Audit.
Coordinate testing activities, including resource and funding requirements.
Design test strategies and test plans for projects or applications.
Coordinate test planning, creation, and execution.
Provide test management guidance.
Select test management tools and coordinate tool onboarding, training, and optimal utilization.
Partner with Test Automation teams and provide project updates.
Define and track project quality assurance metrics.
Create and publish project quality assurance reports.
Capture project quality assurance health scores.
Define and manage defect workflows.
Influence teams to implement quality assurance best practices.
Adhere to software testing standards.
Assist with onboarding quality assurance talent for projects, including onsite and offshore resources.
Review and manage vendor contracts and provide input.
Assist with onboarding external resources.
Prepare transition plans for automation efforts moving into ongoing support.
Assist in preparing project roadmaps after project closure.
Ensure compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identify and support process improvements; and apply disciplined change management practices.
