About The Position

Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization builds and operates technology systems that support Apple’s customers and employees. Within IS&T, AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) brings together data, application development, machine learning—including generative AI—data services, and customer success to help IS&T build solutions efficiently and adopt generative AI across Apple. The Framework Software Engineer will build tools and features for data and machine learning platforms, including data processing, an insights portal, data observability, data lineage, a model hub, and data visualization. The role may involve building custom solutions from the ground up or customizing open-source products for Apple’s needs. It also involves building tools and frameworks that extend the functionality of third-party business intelligence tools through APIs. The successful candidate enjoys tackling challenges, collaborates effectively, and produces high-quality software under tight deadlines and constraints.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Java and/or Python.
• Deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience designing and developing scalable, performant microservices and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications or products.
• Working experience with big data technologies and data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with distributed computing technologies.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in AI, machine learning, or data science.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks.
