Software Engineer, Platform Team

The Voleon Group
•$235,000 - $300,000

About The Position

As a Software Engineer on Voleon’s Software Platform team, you will design and evolve distributed systems that power research and trading workflows across on-premises and cloud environments. The team owns core distributed services, cloud platforms, job scheduling and execution systems, and standardized storage interfaces, delivering reliable and scalable services that abstract away infrastructure complexity. The role operates at the platform services layer rather than bare-metal infrastructure, with an emphasis on distributed systems design, strong abstractions, and operational excellence. The systems you build will influence the reliability, performance, and scalability of research and production workloads across the organization. You will work closely with Infrastructure, Security, application engineering teams, and ML researchers to deliver foundational platform capabilities that improve firm-wide reliability, performance, and productivity. The team values collaboration, experimentation, clear ownership, and efficient execution.
