Staff Software Engineer, Platform Team

The Voleon Group
•$325,000 - $410,000

About The Position

Voleon is a technology company applying AI and machine learning to finance. The Staff Software Engineer will work on the Software Platform team, designing and evolving distributed systems that support research and trading workflows across on-premises and cloud environments. The team owns distributed services, cloud platforms, job scheduling and execution systems, and standardized storage interfaces that provide reliable, scalable services while abstracting infrastructure complexity. This high-impact role focuses on platform services rather than bare-metal infrastructure, with an emphasis on distributed-systems design, strong abstractions, and operational excellence. The engineer will partner with Infrastructure, Security, application engineering teams, and ML researchers to deliver foundational capabilities that improve firm-wide reliability, performance, and productivity. The role includes leading complex projects from design through production delivery, providing technical guidance, and mentoring engineers in a collaborative environment.
