About The Position

The Platform Engineering team supports the design and development of shared platforms used across Scale. The role involves building foundational data platforms and lifecycle systems, architecting core cloud infrastructure and orchestration, and improving how engineers develop, build, test, and deploy software. The position offers exposure to AI initiatives across enterprises, startups, governments, and large technology companies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of full-time engineering experience after graduation, specializing in back-end systems.
• Extensive software development experience and a deep understanding of distributed systems and public cloud platforms; AWS is preferred.
• A track record of independently owning successful engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency with containerization and deployment technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Docker.
• Experience with orchestration platforms such as Temporal and AWS Step Functions.
• Experience with NoSQL document databases such as MongoDB and structured databases such as Postgres.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and CI/CD tooling such as CircleCI.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake and Firebolt, and data pipeline or ETL tools such as Dagster and dbt.
• Experience with authentication and authorization systems such as Zanzibar and Authz.
• Experience scaling products at hyper-growth startups.
• Excitement about working with AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and implementation of foundational platforms and systems, working with stakeholders and internal customers to understand and refine requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
• Identify opportunities and drive improvements to programming practices, processes, and tools.
• Present technical information to teams and stakeholders, providing guidance on development processes and technologies.
