About The Position

The Soft Home Coordinator at HomeGoods is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and works with the Coordinator on Duty and management to prioritize tasks and maintain merchandise flow. The role also upholds merchandising, backroom organization, safety, recycling, and applicable hazardous-waste standards, while supporting store shrink-reduction, credit, and loyalty programs. Other duties may be assigned. The position is located at the HomeGoods store at 2201 Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. The starting pay range is $18.00 to $18.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
