About The Position

Fortis College in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced, motivated faculty member to teach Sociology in its degree programs. The position is part-time and reports directly to the Dean of Education. The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with one or two course preparations. The instructor will also provide academic advising to students and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation. Requirements

• A master's degree in Sociology, or a master's degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate credits completed in Sociology.
• At least three years of experience in the field; the posting includes a note that this requirement should be completed based on the position and accrediting or licensing agency standards, or deleted for a general education position.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven.
