Social Services Assistant
About The Position
Twin Oaks Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center is seeking a Social Services Assistant for its facility in Mobile, Alabama. The role assists with the operation of the Social Services department, helping ensure residents’ medically related emotional and social needs are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and directions from the Facility Administrator. The assistant also supports the Director of Social Services as a liaison and representative of residents’ social interests. The position is in a fast-paced geriatric rehabilitation environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, HealthCare Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in marketing, admissions, and discharges.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Previous experience or completion of an appropriate training program.
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly.
Nice To Haves
- Previous skilled nursing facility (SNF) or hospital experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Social Services department.
- Help ensure residents’ medically related emotional and social needs are met and maintained on an individual basis.
- Assist the Director of Social Services in acting as a liaison and representative of residents’ social interests.
- Support compliance with current federal, state, and local standards governing the facility and directions from the Facility Administrator.
