About The Position

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) is seeking a motivated student Social Media Assistant to join its Communications and Marketing team. The position helps Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources (AFNR) with Alabama Extension develop social media plans through content creation, social media monitoring, and identifying emerging ways to reach new audiences. The student works with an Extension Communications and Marketing Specialist to ensure content meets branding and accessibility guidelines while supporting marketing efforts to expand AFNR program reach and engagement.

Requirements

• Be an enrolled student at Auburn University.
• Have experience managing a social media account.

Responsibilities

• Create social media graphics, reels, and posts for requested AFNR teams.
• Respond to comments and messages received on social media channels.
• Field content requests from team members.
• Identify emerging trends relevant to audiences and engage with them on social media and through ACES website pieces.
• Track social media performance and analytics.
• Ensure content follows Auburn University and Alabama Extension branding, accessibility, and social media guidelines.
