About The Position

The Soccer Official is responsible for enforcing i9 Sports rules while creating a positive, safe, and enjoyable game-day experience. The role includes acting as an on-field coach, teaching sportsmanship and core concepts, and advocating for the programs. The Official’s work directly affects players, coaches, and spectators.

The position is with i9 Sports, which provides community-based youth sports leagues, camps, and clinics. The programs emphasize fun, safety, convenience, age-appropriate instruction, and good sportsmanship.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Sport-specific officiating, playing, or coaching experience.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Motivation and initiative as a self-starter.
• Awareness and ability to take charge of situations to ensure player safety.
• Positive attitude and ability to build professional relationships.
• Availability to work weekends for the full duration of the season, approximately seven weeks.
• Ability to pass a National Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Understand and enforce i9 Sports rule books while ensuring a fun, educational, and safe experience for all players.
• Teach and demonstrate core concepts, including sportsmanship values.
• Keep time and score during games.
• Manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service.
• Take charge of situations as needed to ensure player safety.
