About The Position

The Official enforces i9 Sports rules while cultivating a positive culture, serving as an on-field coach, and advocating for the programs. The role directly affects players, coaches, and spectators on game days. Officials officiate games for children ages 3–6, promote fun, learning, safety, and good sportsmanship, and provide customer service. The position requires weekend availability throughout the season, which lasts approximately seven weeks. Listed season dates are Oct 24–Dec 5, Jan 23–Mar 6, Apr–June, and July–Sept. Compensation is $18.00 per hour.

i9 Sports offers youth sports leagues, camps, and clinics for children ages 3–14 in a range of popular sports. Its programs emphasize fun, safety, convenience, age-appropriate instruction, and good sportsmanship.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills.
• Sport-specific officiating, playing, or coaching experience.
• Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and solve problems.
• Awareness and ability to take charge of situations to ensure player safety.
• Positive attitude and strong ability to build professional relationships.
• Ability to work weekends for the full duration of the season, approximately seven weeks.
• Must pass a National Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Understand and enforce the i9 Sports rule books to ensure fun, learning, and safety for all players.
• Teach and demonstrate core concepts, including sportsmanship values.
• Keep time and score during games.
• Manage age-appropriate instruction and competition.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills.
• Set up and break down the field.
• Officiate games for children ages 3–6.
