About The Position

As a Design Verification Engineer on Apple’s Silicon Engineering Group, you will contribute to the verification of sophisticated SoCs powering Apple’s Cellular 5G platform. You will work within the silicon design group to help craft and productize Cellular SoCs, taking the lead on verification efforts and collaborating with product development groups across Apple. The role involves integrating IP-level design verification environments, creating reusable UVM testbenches, implementing coverage-driven test infrastructure, deploying tools and AI/ML methodologies, and improving tape-out readiness. The work may provide exposure to large-scale SoCs, SoC architectures, high-speed layered protocols, low-power architecture, verification on accelerated platforms, cellular protocols, firmware-hardware interactions, and multi-chip SoC debug architecture. The successful candidate is comfortable across SoC design verification, thrives in a dynamic multifunctional organization, debates ideas openly, and adapts to evolving requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles demonstrated through coursework, research, or project experience in an OOP-based language such as Python, C++, Java, or SystemVerilog.
  • Coursework in Digital Design.
  • Comfort with all areas of SoC design verification engineering.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multifunctional organization, debate ideas openly, and adapt to evolving requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • MSEE, MSCS, or beyond.
  • Coursework in Computer Architecture and Networking Protocol.
  • Hands-on experience developing UVM-based testbenches in SystemVerilog, with applied understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Experience in Digital Design.
  • Experience developing a DUT reference model and performing verification using an HVL.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a desire to seek diverse challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to verification of sophisticated SoCs for Apple’s Cellular 5G platform.
  • Integrate multiple IP-level design verification environments.
  • Develop reusable UVM testbenches.
  • Implement effective coverage-driven test infrastructure.
  • Deploy new tools and AI/ML methodologies.
  • Develop ideas and improvements that increase the tape-out readiness of chips.
  • Collaborate with product development groups across Apple.
