About The Position

Hamilton County Schools, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, seeks an SN Team Member 1 to support the school cafeteria team in providing students with healthy, tasty meals. The role assists with food preparation, operates kitchen equipment, sets up and maintains serving lines, serves students, follows food-safety practices, provides customer service, and cleans and maintains the kitchen. Team members may also perform other related duties as required. The position requires a sense of urgency, a positive attitude, the ability to follow instructions and work well with other team members, and willingness to cross-train as needed. It also involves regular cleaning and periodic deep-cleaning projects and lifting up to 50 pounds. The work schedule is 5.5 hours per day. A high school diploma or GED is not required. Employees become eligible for prorated leave benefits after one year of employment. Compensation is listed as Grade A, Salary Scale.

Responsibilities

Work with the school’s cafeteria team to serve students healthy, tasty meals.
Assist in preparing foods by following recipes and instructions to ensure quality and freshness.
Operate machinery and equipment to prepare food.
Set up and maintain serving lines and serve students.
Practice food safety.
Provide quality customer service to students.
Clean and maintain the kitchen, including regular cleaning tasks and periodic deep-cleaning projects.
Perform other related duties as required.
Work with a sense of urgency and maintain a positive attitude.
Follow instructions and work well with other team members.
Cross-train as needed.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
