About The Position

Model Remodel, a Seattle-based general contractor focused on remodeling, is seeking a skilled, experienced Small Jobs Division (SJD) Technician. The role is second-in-command on job sites and supports the SJD Supervisor in delivering high-quality carpentry work, from demolition through high-end finish carpentry. The technician helps ensure projects meet the company’s quality standards and contributes to a positive, professional work environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in residential remodel carpentry.
• Proven expertise in high-end finish carpentry.
• Strong understanding of general remodel techniques and processes.
• Reliable transportation and a good driving record.
• Ability to bring personal tools, such as cordless drills, nail bags, and hand tools.
• Comfort using email, text, and phone for communication.
• Current US work authorization; applicants must not require employer-sponsored visa support to begin or remain in the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform general residential carpentry, including rough and finish work.
• Execute demolition, deconstruction, and site preparation tasks.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
• Assist the SJD Supervisor in managing crew members, subcontractors, and project schedules.
• Communicate effectively with the Supervisor, team, and clients.
• Protect client property and ensure proper site containment.
• Conduct material inspections and assist with take-offs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and encourage sustainability practices.
