About The Position

Model Remodel, a Seattle-based general contractor focused on remodeling, is seeking an experienced Small Jobs Division (SJD) Technician. The technician serves as the second-in-command on job sites, supporting the SJD Supervisor in delivering quality carpentry work, from demolition through high-end finish carpentry. The role calls for a motivated, honest, and reliable professional who helps maintain MRM’s quality standards and a positive, professional work environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in residential remodel carpentry.
• Proven expertise in high-end finish carpentry.
• Strong understanding of general remodeling techniques and processes.
• Reliable transportation and a good driving record.
• Ability to bring personal tools, such as cordless drills, nail bags, and hand tools.
• Comfort using email, text, and phone for communication.
• Current U.S. work authorization; employer-sponsored visa support is not available for starting or remaining in the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform general residential carpentry, including rough and finish work.
• Carry out demolition, deconstruction, and site preparation tasks.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
• Assist the SJD Supervisor with crew members, subcontractors, and project schedules.
• Communicate effectively with the Supervisor, team, and clients.
• Protect client property and ensure proper site containment.
• Inspect materials and assist with take-offs.
• Follow safety protocols and encourage sustainability practices.
