About The Position

The Small Business Loan Collections Analyst is responsible to collect past due accounts on all SMB/SBA commercial loans, while also controlling delinquency, protecting Northwest assets, mitigating bank losses and developing customer relations in order to secure.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • College degree in business/finance/accounting
  • 3 - 5 years credit experience / administrative experience/collections
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships among team members and participate in solving problems and making decisions
  • Ability to present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written
  • Ability to actively listen to what others are saying to achieve understanding, sharing information with others and facilitating the open exchange of ideas and information
  • Ability to establish courses of action for self to accomplish specific goals, develop and use tracking systems for monitoring own work progress, and effectively use resources such as time and information
  • Ability to make right decisions based on perceptive and analytical processes, practicing good judgment in gray areas
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving, communication, financial analysis
  • Working knowledge of commercial loans

Responsibilities

  • Process loan modifications if applicable to Loss Mitigation Credit Group
  • Develop use of AS400, Signature, VQueue, and collections software system
  • Identify and resolve lender/bank collection issues
  • Ensure appropriate modifications, extensions, and deferrals, and timely collection efforts
  • Prepare and analyze departmental reports
  • Meet departmental service standards
  • Work with SMB/SBA Teams on delinquency and plans
  • Review documentation for data integrity
  • Analyze records of past due accounts
  • Obtain voluntary payment of debt, and judgments and property reports
  • Advise on related laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Collect and negotiate appropriate payment agreements
  • Monitor payment progress effectively
  • Maximize methods of skip tracing/collections
  • Mitigate losses to Northwest
  • Verify collateral
  • Remain flexible in time and tasks
  • Make appropriate credit judgment decisions
  • Pacify non cooperative customers
  • Recommend improvements to procedures, fee generating alternatives, and service/delivery enhancements
  • Analyze/investigate to resolve questionable payments or charges
  • Attempt to outperform delinquency expectations in SMB/SBA Thresholds
  • Minimize departmental nonpayroll costs
  • Manage personal workload/workflow
  • Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work with on-site equipment
  • Complete special projects as necessary
  • Abide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention program
  • Perform work tasks in a safe manner
  • Report any and all injuries to supervisor
  • Know what to do in case of an emergency
