Small Business Collections Representative (Hybrid)
About The Position
A Collections Representative works with small business customers who have encountered financial hardship, offering payment options suited to their circumstances while helping them fulfill their financial obligations with dignity. The role focuses on maintaining positive customer interactions and bringing overdue accounts current. It is a hybrid position requiring in-office work Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. The budgeted hourly rate is $25.00; additional compensation may include commission or a bonus. The role is open to candidates eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Requirements
- Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to show empathy and patience when discussing sensitive issues.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, solve problems independently, and handle changing situations effectively.
- Motivation to exceed goals in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment.
- Computer proficiency and accurate data-entry skills.
- Knowledge of FDCPA and FCRA practices.

Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls with customers about overdue payments.
- Identify solutions that help past-due customers bring their accounts up to date.
- Follow up with customers by email and answer their questions.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of customer interactions.
- Guide existing customers through stages of delinquency and work to bring loans to current status.
- Follow collection laws and legal practices.
