About The Position

Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) is seeking a Slitter Operator to operate a Slitter/Rewinder machine. The role involves running rolls of material and positioning them according to specifications, checking print and seam quality, removing defective material, and splicing the web back together. Operators also handle and palletize rolls to prevent damage and record production data on paperwork and in the company operating system. Experience is not required, though it is a bonus. The role is offered for second and third shifts.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using units of American money and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Slitter Operator experience; experience is not required but is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Slitter/Rewinder, running rolls of material and positioning them as specified.
• Continuously check print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specifications.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing, and use tools at other times as needed.
• Handle and palletize rolls without causing damage.
• Understand basic printing- and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operating system (Radius/Globetek).

• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
